Dear bees! I need some help accessorizing my blush gown and FI’s dark navy suit so that we look well together, I’d like us to complement each other. So far I thought of a pink tie for Fiance and some kind of navy shrug for myself (I’ll need something on my shoulders to stay warm) but now I’m afraid it’s going to look too matchy-matchy. Also, I have no idea what shoes or jewelry I could get. I don’t want us to look too formal since our wedding is in the countryside this fall and we’re going for a rather rustic feel.

Do you have any ideas, links, examples of things I could get online?

I love the navy and blush colour combo – it always looks amazing!

I really don’t think it will take much to tie you two together and I agree that you definitely don’t want to go overboard with matching. I would lean towards putting a blush element or two as part of his outfit, but don’t think you need to incorporate navy into yours. If you do though, I would go for something slightly more subtle than the shrug (such as a navy broach on a belt, or dark blue earrings). You could always do a white or cream coloured shrug that would match his shirt, which would tie your outfits together in a more subtle way.

I love this inspiration pic and think a blush tie and buttonhole would be perfect. Have fun!!!

Thank you for your suggestions. I know that inspiration photo and absolutely love it, this was exactly what I was thinking about for Fiance. As for myself, I have extremely pale skin and thus look awful in white so I’m not sure if a white shrug is the right solution. I tend to look better in darker colours.

I totally hear you. I’m dead pale too, but luckily found the right tone of ivory to be really flattering for my dress, at least! Maybe a navy shrug would work then. I’m sure it will look great with your dress, it just might look a little full on next to your lovely groom in his navy suit.

I had an ivory dress and went with a blush coloured sequinned drapey cardy as a cover up for keeping warm. It actually sounds kind of awful, and the stock photo below doesn’t do it great justice, but it was gorgeous in person. If you don’t want to go with navy, maybe you could look for a silverish or metallic type of cardy or shrug? I think that could work beautifully with a blush dress.

Also, if you did want to do a navy accent in the form of earrings, I think something like this could be stunning (although they’re not exactly cheap!):

Your cardigan is gorgeous! It’s actually pretty much the style I had in mind for myself but in a darker colour. I really like the photo below and how effortless and relaxed their matching looks are. This is what I would like for us but in navy and blush, haha.

And what about the shoes? Blush, navy or maybe… my latest idea… gold?
